EXTERIOR

INTERIOR

The i8 Roadster is a two seat convertible. Unlike the i8 coupe the roadster does not have those tiny rear seats. The rear seats were removed in order to accommodate the convertible top. The rear seats were extremely small regardless so it’s a welcome change. Besides that the i8 Roadster interior is practically the same as the coupe model. It has a premium sound system with android Auto and Carplay so you can have your songs ready to go for your ride in the i8. The interior is modern and futuristic and is very comfortable for a sports car. The cabin is full carbon fiber to provide incredible rigidity and limit the car from flexing. It also has a digital dash plus an additional screen in the center for navigation.The premium leather and comfortable seats make it a great exotic car rental option.

PERFORMANCE

The BMW i8 has a unique drive terrain. It is a hybrid so it comes with 2 different motors. in the front there is an electric motor and in the rear it has a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline 3 cylinder engine. Using the electric motor alone it has a maximum range of 18 miles at up to 75 mph before having to charge it up again. Once you go past 75 mph the gas engine automatically starts up even if you still have the batteries charged. It has a good amount of power with the two motors working together. It can go from 0-60 in just 4.2 seconds and has a total of 369 horsepower. That’s an extra 12 horses from the i8 coupe. The roadster also has slightly more range with 3 extra miles due to an advanced battery. The new advanced battery cells more density going from 7.1 kWh to 11.6 kWh. The suspension has also been upgraded with better shocks and roll bars for less understeer.
